John Gattuso, Leo Addimando Among Those Honored at 2019 Building Big Awards to Benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region

Philadelphia, PA – On May 7, Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region hosted the 2019 Building Big Awards to celebrate real estate professionals and companies positively changing local communities in Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey. Nearly 570 of the region’s top real estate moguls, local media personalities, professional athletes and many others attended the event, which grossed approximately $300,000 on behalf of Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region. 

NBC10 News anchor Jacqueline London emceed the event, which included two individual awards for outstanding community contributions and three project awards. More than 12,000 online votes were cast on behalf of the nominated projects. The evening’s award winners include: 

  • John Gattuso, President & CEO, Gattuso Development, Real Estate Professional of the Year
  • Leo Addimando, Managing Partner, Alterra Property Group, Community Partner of the Year
  • Real Estate Project of the Year (Less than $10 million) –   Stamm Development Group, The Fairmount Flats 
  • Real Estate Project of the Year ($10 million – $50 million) –   Concordia Group, Abigail Vare School  
  • Real Estate Project of the Year (Greater than $50 million) – Riverwards Group, Kensington Courts 

The event was Co-Chaired by Gary Jonas, Founder, HOW Properties (and 2017 Real Estate Person of the Year) and Ken Wellar, Managing Partner, Rittenhouse Realty Advisors. 

Other event highlights include remarks by Marcus Allen, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sister’s Independence Region, and Big Brother Jackson Duncan, Founder & CEO, Focused Athletics, a program that provides Philadelphia high school athletes access to athletic, academic and professional resources in order to develop future leaders.
